Chapters of the BCPVPA are established in each school district. Each Chapter is entitled to one representative for each 50 Active Members (or fraction thereof).
Chapter Council consists of the Chapter Representatives and the BCPVPA Board of Directors.
Chapter Council meetings are held three times per year.
The roles and responsibilities of Chapter Representatives fall under three main headings: governance, communication and advice to the board.
While the Chapter Council has no formal decision-making role in the governance of the Association, it has become more and more influential in guiding its activities.
The business of Chapter Council is to:
- provide guidance and direction to the Board;
- prepare and receive reports;
- carry out activities assigned to it by the members at its AGM
